Insectopia
stayed up the entire night with Shane and Juu to work on our 2D assignment
the task of this assignment was to create 2D posters using silkscreen.
after every print,we had to wash the screen and dry it up
which was such a hassle as the frame had to be completely dry!
one mistake and the entire paper is ruined! :O

we managed to finish the printing at around 6am,
all of us were dead tired,
and worse still we had lessons in the morning!
but im glad we managed to finish our work,
it felt awesome! :D

Went to the Zoo for drawing class today!
they were giving out these cute panda sweets!!
we all loved the packaging,real clever :D

after awhile we got rather lethargic
the weather was hot and humid
all we wanted was to find some place cooling

heres my sketch for the day!
the elephant has an extra leg as i was too lazy to erase it hahahaha :p

After the trip went to meet Jun Hao for dinner!
had Bah Ku Teh and Kway Chap,wasn't nice though :/

what a long and tiring day!
glad to be home :D

Was feeling a little hungry and there wasn't any food at home!
thus i went to cook myself some scrambled eggs.
hahaha was trying to make my dish look expensive
should've seen the mess i created :p

cost me $8 only :)

Oh and We are going to the Zoo for drawing lessons tomorrow!

finally went to visit the National Museum to visit the Dreams & Reality exhibition!
wanted to go see the famous works for a long time but was too lazy haha
it was awesome seeing works by artists that we learnt in our art history
cezanne,gaugin,van gogh,millet and many many more!
the photographs that were up didn't really catch my attention though :/

We then had a little tea break at the Novus :)

In the evening went to Changi Village,
to meet up with George,Chee Hern and Ted!
George is back in Singapore for summer holidays
been a long time since i last saw him :)

its funny how everytime we gather,
the same few things that we talk about never gets old

so busy during CNY!
busy eating that is :p
the lobsters was so shiok,
i ate soooo much of it hahahaha
this year we didn't have shark's fin,
although i kinda miss the delicious broth,
i was happy to give it up :)

and of course,
with holidays comes homework.
went to cut out petals from film negatives,
and sticking them together to form flowers
its actually rather simple.
and you'd only need a few items.

film negatives,scissors,tweezers and super glue
and you're ready to begin!

ohoh and we went to test print our silkscreen prints
and im so glad my design came out the way i wanted it to be!

Went to meet Jun Hao today!
we had lunch at Astons before watching The Viral Factor at the Cathay.

the show was not that bad,although some parts can be quite draggy.
wouldn't recommend it to my friends though :/
After which we went to the Kbox at Orchard Cineleisure
wahaha it was super expensive,$30 per person.
but it was such an enjoyable experience,
hahahahaha and i confirmed that singing wasn't my talent :p

all in all,
what an awesome day :D

i don't have photoshop on my macbook!! :(
thus i did it the traditional way,

Say no to shark fin soup!

Chinese New Year is less than a month away!
My dad would prepare a feast for the entire family :D
and every year we will definitely have Shark's Fin Soup
it tastes amazing and we'd always look forward to it.

but when i read about the movement against eating shark's fin
and after watching this video,
i thought about it and what he said makes complete sense.
shark's fin is really tasteless,the flavour comes from the broth and not the fin.
and to de-fin a shark and throwing it back into the sea is equivalent to a death sentence.

it never really occurred to me how this tasty bowl of shark fin soup came about
but now that i think about it,its really selfish of us.

thus i approached my dad
and asked if we could skip the shark's fin soup
or maybe just replace it with something else
and he agreed :)

i jumped so high that the snake had a shock

its a freakkin snake! :O

while waiting for the bus,
i noticed this mynah that was hopping around and chirping frantically.
upon closer observation,
i realised that pile of thing in front of it was actually a flattened bird!
it might have been its partner or maybe its child..
it was so saddening watching it cry for help..

the worse thing is it died at the bus stop,
which means there will be plenty of buses rolling over it...poor thing! :(((

My iPhone4 was damaged by water thus I brought to M1 customer service centre at Paragon.

Initially I was told that I had to pay $328 for liquid damage as its not covered by warranty.

Thankfully after inspecting the damage

the interior wasn't affected thus it was still covered by warranty

and I had it replaced for free! Phew!!!!!!

Super happy and relieved! :D

Met up with Juu to go IKEA today!
we exchanged christmas presents hahaha,
i just realised that the instruction manual for the DIY present i got for her was completely in CHINESE!! wahahahaha difficulty level x 1000

she got me a super chio laptop case!!
cause she caught me placing my macbook pro into a plastic bag!
HAHAHAHAHAHA i must make it clear that it was to protect it from the rain!!!
hahahaha aniw i love it,the colours so cheerful!!

It's daddy's birthday today!
Daddy bought home so much durians!!!

Downloaded this game after installing windows 7 onto my macbook yesterday!
DC universe online

total of 14.2GB haha took me quite awhile to download
but the graphics,storyline and gameplay are awesome!
The amount of details in the game is simply amazing
and best of all, its free-to-play!
its been out for quite some time now,November 2010 if im not wrong.
in any case if you have yet to watch the trailer,

Went facepainting at Lcentral Thomson today!
had so many different requests
dinosaurs,disney princesses,doraemon,rabbits,powerpuff girls,cars,unicorns etc
I was there from 11am all the way till 3pm,
it was enjoyable as the kids were lovely and they all queued up patiently
waiting for their turn to have their hands/face painted.
It was so heartwarming to see the kids happy

The parents were pleased too!
some of them even told me that when they went home,
their children couldn't bear to wash away the facepaint!
hahaha so sweet!!

Venus Fly Trap!

Came home today and i noticed two pots of plant that my neighbour bought
ones a pitcher plant and the other is the Venus Fly Trap!!
I've always been fascinated by how beautiful it looks
i quickly went to find something to feed it,
to my luck i found a fly on the wall :D

oh oh and my mom says she saw it being sold at our neighbourhood sheng shiong supermarket!

Hello!
wanna share with you guys a facial product called Clearify
i tried it out for myself and the results were awesome!
my pores are smaller,my skin is less oily
and my facial tone appears more even now :))
feel much more confident about my skin!
i've never recommended any facial products before,
this is the first and its only because it really works!

its for Charles's new clinic website

it was my first time doing a product shoot and it was not as easy as i thought!

but it was worth it :D

Our 3D kite model at planning stage

made a paper model

Then bought materials for our mock-up

and after lots planning,cutting,sewing,coloring
our FINAL MODEL is born!!!

All the sewing were done by Juu!
while Syairah and myself went to get the materials and prepare them
so proud of my group mates!!
i think we make an excellent team :D :D :D

still have some adjustments to be done though
but we tested it on ADM rooftop
and it flew!!!!!
hahaha we were so excited to see it fly for the first time!!

Went over to Charles's apartment to do a product shoot

started from 9am in the morning and finished at 7pm!

10 hours straight! tiring but satisfying!

he prepared breakfast :)

here's the behind the scenes pictures

only a few as we were busy taking pictures

haha we tried to salvage bits and pieces of the food after shooting

didn't want to let them go to waste :)

After the shoot,

we went to Jurong Point to have dinner

ordered so much food!!

I'm surprised that we managed to finish it hahaha

i'm so glad we managed to finish the shoot in time before the sun set
the shoot went quite well!
luckily charles had a good concept,
and good art direction
if not we'd be in big trouble hahaha
oh and what a beautiful sunset it was today :)

My dad was driving me back to NTU just now
and i mentioned that what a pity it was to just "kill" the car now that 10 years is up
i said that then i'd no car to drive even if i get my license.
when he heard that he said maybe we'd get a second hand car
or renew the COE
and he mentioned how we've been using this car for all these years
how he would drive me around
ever since i was in primary school,
then to secondary school
then to junior college
then to National Service
and now even when I'm in University,
daddy still drives me to school.

tears came to my eyes
as i thought about how fast time flies
and how daddy never complaint at all
how he doted on me
the love he expressed through such actions.
i didn't let him see my tears though
just like how he'd never let us see the sadness he has inside

as i alighted at my hall
i said to him "drive slowly dad"
and as he reversed his car i waved to him goodbye
and i know he must be very happy
as he waved back to me in the car.
after all,when the ones you love appreciate what you did for them
you'd feel like its all worth it

Tried NTU canteen 1 Japanese food for the first time!
it was nice!! :D
haha annette insisted that we had to try it :)

my 3D paper model that i spent super long working on it
still not completed though :/

haha it can be used as a headgear too :p

oh was working on my 2D linoprint in class today
squeezed out some acrylic paint onto the glass table
and also some dabs of red and yellow paint
while working halfway,i noticed something pretty on the table
the paint created such pretty images on its own!!
what a pity that we had to clear up the table though :/

did some test studies on newsprint paper
looked nice but couldn't replicate it on Fabrino paper :/
the paper provided for our mono print wasn't really suitable

heres my mono print!
i hope the teacher likes it

hmm currently working on a few short films,
shot using iPhone camera, for our writing narratives class

wanna thank Kunming for helping me out by being the actor
and for putting up with a noob cameraman like myself hahahaha

So glad this week is finally over,
had so much work to do!!!

We did portrait drawing of a live model on monday
took about 25minutes for this piece

then on wednesday cleared my Art History group presentation
such a relief! we improved from our previous one so I'm very pleased :)
i really don't like group work though :/

started our linocut on wednesday night
Juu and i stayed up all night just to do it!
took around 8hours to finish carving the linoleum

it was quite exciting to see what the print will look like
as i had no idea whether it'd look nice or not will carving the linoleum
heres the end result!
I'm quite pleased with how it turned out :D

oh and i just went for basketball practice with Denis,Kunming and Melvin

What an insanely busy week
soo much work that we didnt even have enough sleep
and i still have lots to do!!

had cafe duty on thursday
decided to let Kun Ming try out facepainting
as he might be taking up the job as well :)

while he was painting i was also painting for others
Nic requested for Edward Cullen :]
haha i think he loved it
wasnt easy painting portraits though
had very limited colour range

oh and painted Keroro,
KunMing's favourite cartoon character :]

After Cafe duty
Juu and I went to 4D FDN lab to do our homework
which was due the following day!
Melvin and Benjamin were also working on theirs :)
there were also people from the morning class doing the same assignment
all of us stayed throughout the night!

After 8 long hours
we managed to complete our work
but we were soooo tired
i kept dozing off in the shower hahaha

SUPER BUSY WEEK
Didn't even have proper sleep at all!!
every single module is giving their own work

Mid Autumn Festival!!

Did some charcoal drawing during foundation class on monday!
was practicing on the tones and values of the sculpture
learnt alot from that session :D

On wednesday night,
I went over to martin's hall for a mini party!
was amazed by how they managed to turn their room into a club!
crazy awesome decorations!!
had an enjoyable night with all the other ADMers!
amazing job guys :]

On thursday night,
it was ADM's Mid Autumn Festival!
was in charge of manning the ADM cafe :D
it was nice to see how supportive my friends were!
really touched :D

Juu made these bunny ears for us to wear
oh oh and i made a lantern using the recycled materials in 3D lab
there were soooo much materials for us to use!
i was super happy that i managed to light up my masking tape lantern!!

Yet another busy week!

What a busy week it was!
spent the long weekend doing project work :(
Had quite a few assignments over the week
haha cause i kept procastinating
end up having to stay up damn late to finish up my work :/

went for live figure drawing on wednesday!
wanted to test out the drawing techniques
that we learnt during foundation class
its so challenging cause we were only given 2 minutes per pose!

ohhhh and i finally got my very own computer!!!
bought it from Comex 2011 :D
went with Melvin,Benjamin,Annette,Trivia and Clarisa
im so glad i went there with my friends
cause im such a noob at computer stuff :/
if it weren't for them
i think id paid a few hundred extra for my macbook :O

On saturday,we went to visit Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle
where the last dragon kiln is to do some sketches,
quite a nice place :D never knew it existed
but i heard its gonna be gone soon
its right beside NTU,
do visit if you're interested in pottery! :D

After which we cabbed down to Yavuz Art Gallery
where Miss Tang,our 2D art lecturer,was having her exhibition
haha most of us have yet to finish our homework
thus we had to rush it out on the spot
it was fun drawing together :D

not a big fan of colour pencils
cause it takes too long!
but i really like how it turned out :D

im like coughing and coughing
ughhhh :(
i need some sleep!

Sketching Picnic!

Didn't get selected for ADM Student Club :(
and didn't get selected for Contemporary Dance either...
felt so crappy and useless :(
haha oh wells

Went Marina Barrage for sketching and picnic with my OG mates on saturday!
all of us brought some food there :D

Kunming got too tired from all the sketching that he fell asleep
and he didnt even realise that we were taking this shot hahaha

haha at first we were wondering what Bryan and Lois were doing,

went up for a closer look then the mystery was solved!

Another awesome week at ADM!!
so many assignments to do though :/
and its only the second week.
BUSY BUSY!!!

anyway heres what ive done recently
for 3D class,we brought junk to class!
the task was to make an animal or organism out of readymades
we were all very excited!!

i made a few creatures,
one was a terrapin made from a tap,and some spare parts
the next was a mosquito made from pen ink and a lightbulb starter
but my favourite was the stag beetle!

i made it by melting the bicycle headlights with a hot air gun to form the body
and drilling a hole to the top part of the clothes hanger to join them together,
lots of work but it was worth it! :D

For 2D class
we had to bring an organic and a geometric shaped object.
Also we had to bring an object we liked alot,
mine was the Rilakumma plushie i got from Taiwan!

Observing the object,we had to draw the basic contours
and fill it up with geometric and organic shapes!

Also we tried out a technique called "Pointillism"
my object was the mannequin i brought,
my goodness it was sooooo tedious!!
dot and dot and dot and dot....
finally finished it!

Heres a close up of the picture!

Ohhh and i went to try out the Western Stall from my Hall's canteen
its not bad!
So far ive tried the Grilled Fish with Buttered Rice

and the Jumbo Chicken Sausage,

both were damn awesome!! :D

First Week!

School has finally began!
we had foundation drawing,
2D,3D and art history lessons
hmm everything seems fine
but well its just the first week!

oh oh
they had live drawing sessions on every Wednesday
where we get to practice our figure drawing!
it was my first time attempting in nude figure drawings
we had a minute before the model changed his pose,
challenging but super fun sketching with friends!

Have quite a number of assignments to do,
gonna sleep early and start tomorrow! :D

said to reduce pore size,
just what i needed :)

Fertility Outing!!

Went to Kallang Leisure Park with my orientation group mates!
We went to get tickets for Captain America
before heading into the ice skating ring!
haha it felt similiar to roller blading,
only that the floor is much wetter
and much more slippery!

Hannah,Alice,Xiangting,Gabriel and Tanyin had no problems skating
hahaha i did pretty well too!
but lost balance quite a few times :p
the rest of the group were struggling as it was their first time
i had some experience from roller blading which really helped!

Oh and alice showed us her friend who was a splitting image of Kunming,
hahaha its so alike that its freaky!

We then went to watch Captain America!
the cinema was just next to the skating ring haha :)
The movie was not bad,
but the action part was too short!
more please.
i find it so amazing how Chris Evans went from this,

to this within a matter of minutes!!
hahaha i want it too!!
oh btw,if you're watching it in cinemas,
be sure to stay after the movie has ended
theres an awesome trailer after the credits!

After the movie,we made our way to Tian Tian Huo Guo at Bugis!
hmm the food was okay...
nothing could compare to the steamboat i had in Taipei!!!
it was soooooooo awesome!!!!!!!
i miss the food there..
hmm hmm

ohh and i went to check into my hostel on saturday!
its at hall 11,quite far from ADM :(

i like my new room!!!!!!!!
the desk feels so cosy
the only sad thing is the windows
WHAT KIND OF VIEW IS THIS?!
hahahahahaha
oh wells,
not gonna open the windows at all
as there's construction going on outside,
and all the dust will just overwhelm the room.
hmm my roomate hasn't moved in yet,
i wonder who will it be...

Taiwan!!!!

Flew off to Taiwan on wednesday
took SIA siaaaa :))

We arrived at Taipei airport at around 5:30pm
then reached our hotel only to find out that the rooms we booked were taken!
they then transfered us to another nearby hotel
quite a bummer.

After placing our luggages
we went to explore 西門町
it reminded me of Bugis Street,
only larger.

After which we went to visit the different night markets in Taipei
so much nice street food!!
Smelly tofu,Oyster Mee Sua,Chicken Intestines,Chicken Backside,Taiwan Sausage etc..

This is the famous Chicken Cutlet stall
located opposite Shilin Station.
Super yummy and the portion is HUGE
Look,its almost as big as Alvin's head :p

Oh and we happen to pass by this pet shop
which was selling kittens!!
insanely adorable

We visited Taipei 101
the tallest building in Taiwan
Haha the lift went up to the 89th floor damn fast!
The view up there was awesome
but it was really hot!
took a paranomic photo with my iphone using the app Photosynth :)

The following day,
we took the train to visit 淡水

nothing much there other than the seaview
hahas,quite forgettable
hmm hmm

We then went to 九份
Quite a long train ride
but the scenery was AWESOME!!
totally worth the trip up there :)

there were loads of stalls selling soveniours and food
the barbequed mushrooms were not bad!
just a tad expensive

There was this Converse Block Party at 西門町
decided to check it out!
There were people playing basketball,
skateboarding,graffiti and hip hop.

went to get a temporary tattoo on my face
all for the fun of it haha

For dinner,we had steamboat buffet at this place called 天外天火鍋
for $20 plus SGD,all you can eat
gosh the food was sooooo awesome!!
everything was fresh and there was a large variety to choose from
definitely a must try!!

And of course
we went clubbing!!
We went to a club called LUXY,
the place was awesome!!!
Opened up a bottle of Black Label Whiskey
and i drank quite alot hahaha
We were having so much fun,until the police check came
where they had to stop everything and check everyone's IDs
gosh my head was still spinning thus i ended up puking in the toilet
ugh felt terrible!
nevertheless,we had loads of fun haha

hahaha my head was still spinning even on the way back
what a night!~

For the last day in Taipei,
we went shopping!!
heehee bought lots of Rilakkuma merchandise

including these button stickers
which i've been trying to find for a longggg time!!
hahaha can't bear to use it though

All in all,
Taiwan was a nice place!!
other than the freaking hot weather.
The food was nice,the scenery was nice,the shop attendants were friendly,
there were plenty of gorgeous looking people and most of all,there were loads of Rilakkuma toys!!!! :D :D :D

Met up with George and my bunkmates for dinner!
Leonard,Alvin,Chee Hern and Joel were able to make it :D

George came back from overseas for a short break
It's been about half a year since i last saw him
haha time sure flies!
we always have loads to talk about,
the good old days back in 36SCE.

oh and im flying off for Taiwan tomorrow!!
haven't packed my bags yet!!
very excited!!!! :D

ADM FOC2011

It was finally time for ADM Freshmen Orientation Camp!

On the first day
we were greeted by a tribal scene that was so entertaining
you could see people rowing their boats,fishing and dancing
haha i couldn't stop smiling!!

we were split into 6 different groups
Harvest,Land,Hunter,Sky,Warrior and Fertility
say hi to my group's totem,Fertility!!
hahaha it has boobs and a penis :p

The second day was The Amazing Race,
where they gave us clues and we had to complete tasks
mostly around Bugis area.

Oh and we had to paint our faces!
people gave me weird stares when i went to the toilet alone
hahaha they must be thinking that im nuts!

The third day was sports and games!!
it took us freaking long to finally get this shot right
but it was so worth it!!

oh ya we also went shopping for props
that we were gonna use for our performance on Bash Night!
our theme was Bollywood!
thus we went to Arab Street in search of cloth :D

we then went back to NTU ADM to rehearse and rehearse our skit

The fourth day was EPIC!!
we went to an open field
with the clean white shirts that they provided

when we arrived,
we saw buckets of water and bottles of paint!
its time to get dirty!!!!!

hahaha it took us a freaking long time to shower
as the paint was sooo hard to wash off
but it was super fun!!!!!!

It was then time for the performance and Bash Night!!
we were the last group to perform!
haha all of us gave everything we got
and the audiences loved it!!

After which,
it was time to party!!!!!
they transformed the school into a dancefloor
super awesome!!

what an awesome night!!

Then came the final closing ceremony
where we thanked all those who contributed to this FOC
making it such a huge success :D

i'm glad that i attended it
got to meet a whole bunch of awesome friends!

My relatives came over for a visit!
Thus my dad went to buy fresh lobsters and fish from Kent Road
bought 10 smaller sized lobsters! one per person :D

and also fresh 'Sun Hok'!

Dad prepared loads of seafood!! :D
Lobsters,Fish and Crabs!!
but i didn't take any pics of the crabs as my hands were dirty
busy eating hahaha

:D ohh and i went to book tickets for Harry Potter:The Deathly Hallows Part2!!
woah half the cinema seats were taken up already!
After so many years it finally comes down to this
can't wait!!!

THE Letter

went to have lunch with Nuh at Strictly Pancakes today
its located at Prinsep Street :D
i ordered "Snuggle Up"

which is sausage wrapped up in pancakes
and there were mashed peas at the side
topped it with Garlic&Herb butter
and drizzled maple syrup all over it
it was nice!!!
loved it heehee
definitely going back next time!

we then went to catch Transformers 3 at The Cathay

It was a nice movie,plenty of cool effects and stuff
but the most amazing thing about Transformers 3was how
Rosie Huntington Whiteley made it through the whole battlefield
without a single scratch,clothes still clean,hair and makeup on
and best of all,
in heels!

Aniw when i got home
Opened up my letter box,
amongst the pile of bills and advertisments
there it was..

Hello July!

Had dinner with my family to celebrate my sister's birthday
which coincidentally is also my parents' wedding 30th anniversary!
We went to our nearby neighbourhood hawker centre to have seafood :D

my parents had a quarrel :(
well my dad is the kind of 大男人
he doesn't really see how simple things and gestures
could mean alot to my mom
thus we had to step in
im glad things got better in the end :D

Had my passport renewed and
had to make my way down to ICA building to collect it.
While i was on the train,i got bored and
i saw this puddle of water that came from my wet umbrella
thus i took my umbrella and started doodling
haha can you tell what it is?

haha oh i might be going Taiwan during the end of this month
thats why i had to quickly had my passport renewed
oh and ADM freshmen orientation camp is this month too!
how exciting!

my friend got me hooked to this Iphone game,
Solomon's Keep

its basically a RPG game where you go about blasting skeletons and zombies
its quite brainless but fun :D
its free download btw

Ahh i love RPG games :)
