January is coming to an end already?!

Ah.. the second week of school has ended,
here's a little update on the courses that i'm taking this semester!

1. 3D Character Animation II (freaking nightmare for me, i hate Maya)
2. Animation Development and Preproduction
3. 3D Modeling
4. Digital Compositing (struggling as well)
5. Watercolor Landscape Painting 

All of these courses are so time consuming!!

but on the bright side, i'd not be having any examinations this semester

plus they are all arts related, no more irrelevant courses WOOHOO!!

oh oh Chinese New Year is just around the corner!!

that means new clothes, good food and most importantly....

$$$$$$$$$
Thinking of doing some commissioned work as well
gonna be graduating soon and need a decent job
really hope to travel the world someday!
but all these need money, money money money
as much as i hate to put a price on my works
but this is reality, le sigh...

Hello 2014~

Hey guys! I'M BACK with the first post of 2014!
Anyway in case you're wondering why i've been gone for so long,
well... i blame it on Guild Wars 2, it's so addictive!

This MMORPG has alot of things to do,
from Dungeons,Crafting,Player vs Player to World vs World battles
but what I love about this game is the aesthetics, everything in there looks so awesome!
For others the gameplay might be the most important factor but my goal in the game is just to customize my characters so that they look good (superficial but yeah), it brings me such joy hahahaha
I could spend hours and hours previewing every single possible armor piece,
mixing and matching till i get my desired look heehee
Here's what my main character looks like in the game!


Got to meet up with Stan during the holidays! :D
We played GW2 together and watched several movies
The ones that i enjoyed the most were The Hobbits: Desolation of Smaug and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (surprisingly nice movie! went in without any idea what to expect)
It's nice that he was having his holidays as well!
you should check out the workload they have at Digipen, gosh it's a killer.
Everytime when i complain to him about my school's workload,
he'd give me the "are you fucking kidding me?" look hahahaha
poor fella, and i was the one who encouraged him to go Digipen back then, oh dear.

Besides that, the highlight of my holidays was to pass my driving test!!!
After months of driving lessons, it finally paid off!
It was quite annoying to keep thinking about it all the time,
i'm so glad it's over... but we all know that the real test is from our parents
wonder how long it'd take before my dad would entrust me with the car.

ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED!

Oh yes and last but not least,
Shane is finally back from exchange!!
gosh it's been 5months since I last saw him.
while he was in Stuttgart,
we played this first person shooter game called Borderlands2 (as Steam was having sales then)
Didn't regret the decision to buy it :)
The voice acting and the characters in the game are really funny!
and there's always something new to entertain us.
Let me introduce to you, Ellie
fuck hahahaha it was hilarious

Went back to ADM on tuesday for painting class
while we were taking a break,
Kim came over and had a look at my painting
"well done!" he said,
and I acknowledged that with a smile
then he went on and asked me what major and year was I in,
and i said: "Animation Year 3"

"ah how time flies"

 yes indeed, it felt like yesterday when we had our first live drawing session
i could still remember how we were told by our foundation drawing teacher, Don Low,
not to chat amongst ourselves as that might appear rude for the model.
we were all so serious as we barely knew our classmates
but it didn't take long for us to know one another.
lessons were much more enjoyable back then
so much joy and laughter

With a blink of an eye
we are now year 3 students
it feels so surreal.
Sometimes when i enter the foundation room to wash my brushes
my heart sank as i remembered the times we spent in here
working till the wee hours of the morning
but we had the company of one another.
i really miss that feeling :'/

Ah yes...
been rather busy with the painting that was meant for M.O.D.A's first anniversary party
now that its finally over, time to get back on track with my other school work
which i've been neglecting all these while >_<
thankfully the painting I did could be used to submit for my painting class
so it won't be in vain!

having doubts whether or not animation is really my passion
but oh wells its not really the time to think about such stuff
so much work to do and catch up!!

Ugh and on top of all that would be my practical driving test as well as IPPT
both due in december..got to train up!!

hahaha isn't it sad to look like shit, literally

Was watering my plants one day 

when i noticed this bird-shit looking caterpillar appear on my lime plant,

I left it alone cause i was curious as to what kind of butterfly/moth it will become.

just two days later, it grew so much

and it even changed it's appearance!!

Kinda resemble the Pokemon 'Caterpie' doesn't it?

After which i went to google "Lime Butterfly" as it was on a lime plant hahaha

and to my surprise it is the caterpillar of the Lime Swallowtail!

I wanted to protect it from any predators thus i went to buy a mesh bag

snipped out the inner lining and stitched them together using wires

soon after, the caterpillar finished my entire plant 

hahahaha what a big appetite it has

safe and sheltered!

It then climbed to the top of the mesh and started to spin some sort of silk

which indicates its gonna become a Chrysalis!

i always had this idea that they spun silk around themselves hahaha

but that's what moths do, and its called a cocoon

oh oh and i read that during Metamorphosis

the caterpillar's body actually 'melts' down into imaginal cells

which then puts themselves together to form a completely new structure!

isn't that amazing? i always thought tiny wings sprout out from the caterpillar.

Anyway it is now in the Chrysalis stage

gonna have to wait for 2 weeks or so

before it emerges as a butterfly!

New Hairstyle!

Managed to squeeze out some time earlier today to have my hair done

went over to U-One Hair Salon at Orchard Plaza after my driving lesson

my hair was getting really long and it was very hair to style due to its curly nature

thus i decided to go for Soft Rebonding

the process took around 2 whole hours

amazing how they can iron my hair when its so short hahaha,skills.

weeee so happy :D i finally have straight hair

Hello readers!!
Ah it's been such a long time since i typed out a proper blog post
been rather lazy due to the other social media such as Instagram
and ugh all the school work are starting to pile up!
but nevertheless i feel that I should make it a point to update my blog

so here's what has happened in my life
first of all, our dear Shane has finally flew to Germany!
(that was 16 days ago actually hahaha)

It was such a bittersweet feeling
for one i'm happy that he is going to somewhere new and fun
and yet the other side of me i just can't bear to see him leave
it's just too saddening for me i guess, i really hate goodbyes :'(
but then again, it's just for 5 months
i'm sure it'd pass by real fast

School work is really quite taxing
as i'm really out of my comfort zone working with 3D Maya rigging
as well as animating using photoshop
oh speaking of which I've been working on a character named Bruce!

It is really quite taxing as i've such little experience with animation
and now i have to animate a 4-legged animal
which is not easy at all
i'm struggling so badly with it.. urghhhh
i feel that my foundation is really weak
as i didn't really learn much about animation in year 2
which is why now i'm making so many mistakes now
really hope things will work out in the end!

Oh and i took oil painting class this semester as well!
i'm much more comfortable painting with acrylic and watercolour
but i really wanted to learn oil painting
as i've seen many amazing works done in oil which i really which to achieve as well!
anyway here's one piece that im quite pleased with

on top of all that,
i have an upcoming collaboration for M.O.D.A's anniversary
have to complete another rather large painting before 29th september
ahhh so much work to do and i'm way behind schedule
gonna need a miracle, wish me luck!

Hello there!

woo my new cap! cost me $65 though, ouch.

Ah after 3 long months of holidays,
i'm back to school and now into my third year of ADM!
so far the teachers that i managed to get are really inspiring
they are all so knowledgeable and talented!!
But then again
that makes me rather worried as to whether i can live up to their expectations
guess all i can do now is to try my best!

This semester is rather sad for me though
as i will rarely get to see my friends
due to the nature of our courses
but it's alright, i shall try and be independent!
been relying too much on others
it's scary working alone
but i believe i'd learn more that way

btw, did i mention i have a 2 day week?

Driving Lessons!

Hello there!
Finally booked my driving lessons
as I've procrastinated for wayyy too long!
my parents have been urging me to go get my driving license since forever
and i think it's about time i cleared this 'obstacle' in life.
The reason why i want to get my driving license is rather simple:
i just want to go for late night supper/meeting/movie with my friends
It is rather annoying having to constantly worry about when the last train or bus is about to leave
it never fails to dampen my mood!

and also because Shane has been driving us out for late night supper
I feel really bad about it, you know very paiseh to keep having people drive you around
it's only right that we returned the favor as well!
and i've always wanted to be able to say this to my friends
"eh, i'm driving over to fetch you"
i know this sounds silly but i think it's really cool
really mah..

oh and my first driving lesson is TODAY at 4pm!!!!
i am crazy nervous as i've no idea what to expect
even though i drove military vehicle before during NS
it has been such a long time!!!
i probably forgotten everything i've learnt
really hope everything goes smoothly
i'm so excited!

Just the other day, I was just scrolling through my Deviantart inbox
read several messages that were congratulating me
was rather confused at first,
but when i scrolled down, i was pleasantly surprised.
 I GOT MY VERY FIRST DAILY DEVIATION!!! Being a Deviant for 5 years,
i've always looked at the works of others on deviantart and i thought,
ah if only my artwork could be featured as well how awesome it'd be!
At last, that day finally came!
it might mean nothing to others
but its a BIG DEAL for me,
its a nice feeling to know that people understand and appreciate your work
its such a warm and fuzzy feeling
just like being in love!
wanna thank everybody who've been so supportive
really really appreciate it!!
hope to produce more works in the near future!

Heh been rather caught up with stuff lately
its almost a month since exams ended!
and very soon i'd be a year 3 student!!!
gosh time flies so fast...
really don't know what to expect next semester,
